Welcome to the website for Alfa Shotokan Karate Club. We are dedicated to teaching traditional Shotokan Karate to the very highest standard. We are proud to be affiliated to Japan Karate Association England association. Club instructor has over fifteen years experience, is CRB checked, fully insured and holds a coaching licence. We are based in Silvertown,Newham,East London and Chafford Hundred,Thurrock in Essex.
Everyone is welcome from the age of six. Karate can be practised by children, women and men. We encourage beginners to the correct way and they will receive training relevant to their ability.
Just come along to your first FREE session and start enjoying the benefits of improved health, strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, co-ordination, concentration and self confidence... Alfa Shotokan Karate Club is a friendly club with good social activities.

JKAE

The JKAE Japan Karate Association England is steadily growing association of karate clubs formed in 2003 as the official branch in the England of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) based in Tokyo, Japan. The JKA has branches and dojos worldwide and is one of the oldest and most prestigious karate associations in the world.
The primary objective of the JKAE Association is to teach and foster the development of authentic JKA Karate. This will be achieved under the leadership of Chief Instructor of JKAE Sensei Yoshinobu Ohta 7th Dan, by way of regular training courses, gradings and championships.
As a professional Karate teacher Sensei Ohta is a graduate of the famous JKA Instructors Course. Since 1982 he was assistant to Sensei K. Enoeda ,9th Dan (deceased),for over 20 years in the UK, during which time he built an international following and reputation. Sensei Ohta is without doubt one of the most popular and technically sound Shotokan Instructors in the world.
